The Office of the ACT OHS Commissioner released two television commercials in October 2008. These commercials (both 30 second duration with a 15 second duration available as well) received their first airing during National Safety Week in October 2008.
The message portrayed through these commercials is that health and safety doesn't always have to be complex and/or expensive. For many small businesses, in particular, health and safety can often be relatively simple and very often the solutions to problems can be inexpensive to implement. The real cost of health and safety comes from not dealing with safety issues. The resulting injuries can have serious consequences - both for the individuals involved as well as for the businesses employing them.
The first commercial is set in the office kitchen of a small business.
The second commercial is set in a commercial nursery.
