Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs)
Any employer who has more than 10 employees must have a HSR.
The Office of Regulatory Services (formerly ACT WorkCover) provides some very useful information regarding HSRs on its website. This includes:
- links to the relevant legislation
- a summary of the legislative requirements
- what powers HSRs have
- how to become accredited as a HSR trainer
There are currently 3 training packages approved for HSRs in the ACT. These are:
“Occupational Health and Safety Training” provided by the WorkWatch ACT Ltd.
“Occupational Health and Safety in the Workplace” provided by PARASOL EMT Pty Ltd.
