October is health and safety month, or Safe Work ACT Month, in the ACT. Safe Work ACT Month is brought to you with the help of our sponsors, whose support is essential in making this an important event on the ACT calendar.

- a public seminar on the new Work Safety Act 2008 on 8 October at the NSCA Canberra Office in Civic (Fully Booked)
- Global Handwashing Day on 15 October 2009
- Have a Ball on the evening of 15 October - a fun event aimed at raising finds to support the work of Arthritis ACT
- a Discussion Evening on OHS Harmonisation and 3rd party prosecutions in particular on the evening of 20 October - hosted by Slater & Gordon, Unions ACT and Unions NSW at Old Parliament House
- World Osteoporosis Day Seminar on 20 October at Yarralumla
